A story of a cat that has resided at Chichester Cattery

Sophie is an ex Mount Noddy rescued cat.
Sophie’s owner had seen pictures of a breed called a Norwegian Forest Cat and thought Sophie bore a strong resemblance.
An internet search brought up an amazing amount of information about this breed of cat. From this information and her picture it does appear that Sophie could well be a first cross Norwegian Forest Cat. Sophie’s owner thinks that she is probably part tabby.
Characteristics of Norwegian Forest Cats, which are also known as Wegies in America, are a large muscled body, a distinguished heavy coat, bushy tail and frontal ruff.
These characteristics help them survive life as farm cats in Norway. They are known to be superb climbers and are often prolific catchers of fish.
They are supposed to be fierce hunters but according to her owner, Sophie has not inherited this trait!
